LBC President Appeals for Relief Donation

9/2
LBC President Appeals for Relief Donation

I would like to extend an urgent appeal to our SBC family on behalf of Louisiana Baptists greatly affected by Hurricane Katrina. Even with all of the pictures and media coverage of the aftermath of this storm, I do not think anyone can fully grasp the scope of this disaster if you are not living it. We have over 300 Southern Baptist churches, pastors, staff and congregations in Louisiana alone with tremendous needs including some who have nothing left. There are various avenues available to the American public to give to Katrina relief, but the Louisiana Baptist Convention has established a special relief fund which will focus particularly on the urgent needs of Southern Baptists impacted by this disaster. The most pressing need, as President Bush has stated, is to contribute money. I would

ask Southern Baptists to consider giving through the Louisiana Baptist Convention Katrina Relief Fund. 100% of funds received will go to this disaster relief effort with a primary emphasis on the urgent needs of our churches, pastors, staff and congregations. Information on how you can contribute to this fund can be found on the Convention website at www.lbc.org or you may call 1-877-487-4658. The long term needs of those affected will be immense. We are grateful for your prayers and support.
